Dear Players, Coaches, Members and Supporters,The recent lockdown has no doubt impacted all of you in different ways. Not having a crystal ball, it’s nearly impossible to predict what we are doing in 2 days’ time when restrictions may ease or any time after that due to increasing COVID19 infections. What it means from a Football / Netball Club perspective is NO games.
This hurts us in so many ways but ultimately we are all ‘social beings’ and we miss the interactions of our friends. Our club is hopeful we all stay healthy and we return to some normality as soon as possible but if things don’t change quickly, we will react, reset and make the necessary adjustments to keep our Club strong! Our intention is to not cancel any future events. We plan on being creative and where necessary, we will think on our feet and act decisively.
HAWKA HIGH TEA – highly unlikely to go ahead next Saturday but the girls have put too much work into this to cancel so we will search for an alternate date later in the season. It will happen!
COTERIE BBQ for next Saturday – also highly unlikely but the Hawks Nest Coterie is full of creative and innovative people and we will work together to get this off the ground before this season is concluded.200 DRAW – also highly unlikely for two weeks’ time. We will find a date later in their year and it will go ahead! Keep buying your tickets as it will happen. We have a great relationship with our Cricket Club so it could even be during their tenure. We will make it a huge night for the Club no matter what the date it is.
PRESIDENTS LUNCHEON – still full steam ahead but every likelihood things may change in relation to numbers etc. We’ll have to watch this space on this event in the coming weeks.
MAJOR RAFFLE – all books are out, let’s sell them and bring them back sold ASAP.FINALS – The hosting of the Div 1 finals is equivalent to being a major club sponsor or even better. Murra is on top of this already and I’m confident this will be most successful for the HAWKA!
PRESENTATION NIGHTS – Too soon to say but planning is going ahead as planned.
The challenge of the last couple of years has impacted our Club. What I can state is our loyal sponsors, our passionate members, and our dedicated playing lists have never thrown in the towel and our committee will make sure we make every positive we can from the remainder of this season. We will continue to reset on the move and I will communicate with you all weekly to give you a snapshot of where we are and what we are doing.
