Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club is very proud to announce the Boronia Hawks Nest Coterie Group as a Platinum Sponsor. We thank them for their generous contributions and support to the Club for the 2021 season.
The Coterie has been an integral part of the Club for many years, not only contributing to on- field success, but a range of off-field projects including the recent investment in gym equipment, and most importantly, as part of the fabric and culture of the Club.
We look forward to utilising the funds for the 2021 season to help develop our Junior Program for young boys and girls through the subsidies of FREE REGISTRATION FEES, and contributions for our Senior Men’s Program.
Thank you again to Coterie Chair, Robert Kimmitt and the whole Coterie Group. We look forward to another successful year in brown and gold.
Dear Past Players, As a former player at the BHFNC we hope your association with us doesn’t completely diminish over time. Our club has always had a proud tradition of making former players most welcome when they visit our club for a home game at ‘The Hawka!’ We actually have a huge past player community that does support the club on a regular basis and our culture of inclusion has never been stronger. Other clubs marvel at our past player support on game day and when we reflect on its success, the answer lies in our capacity to make past players and supporters feel most welcome.
Whether through Murra’s Past Players & Supporters Group or Bomma’s Hawks Nest Coterie Group, we tend to be able to reach out to the 100’s of past players that have once donned the brown and gold jumper throughout each year and give them feedback on our proud clubs progress. This year, I’d love to be able to give more PP than ever before face to face feedback.
After the tumultuous year of 2020, I’m reaching out to all past players to make an extra effort to get down to the club at some stage throughout season 2021. It really is like groundhog day when you do visit, the same voices, the same characters and we will make sure you enjoy the experience.
This year our playing list is as strong as it has been for many a year. Our coaching group is excited about our prospects and we really hope to build on the PP community to make the effort to re-visit our club. Our home game dates are as follows:
APRIL 17 V MULGRAVE
MAY 1 V HEATHMONT
MAY 8 V THE BASIN
MAY 22 V RINGWOOD
JUNE 5 V MULGRAVE
JUNE 19 V SOUTH BELGRAVE
JULY 10 V TEMPLESTOWE
JULY 24 V KNOX
AUG 7 V SOUTH BELGRAVE
Whether you played 100 games or 2, you have all left a legacy at our club. We very much look forward to seeing you all at some stage at The Hawka in season 2021!
Boronia Hawks hosted Jessie Doull from AFL Victoria and Troy Swainston from Eastern Football League last night for the presentation of AFL funding for the outstanding new sports light installation at Tormore Reserve.
Jessie is AFL Victoria’s Facilities and Planning Manager and was instrumental in the success of our submission for funding under the AFL’s Facilities Development Reserve. This funding was in addition to the federal funding from the Australian Sports Commission with the great support of Alan Tudge MP.
Club Chairman, Scott Nicholas said “Thanks to everyone at the Club for your contributions to this project, large or small. It was a great example of a number of people across the Club coming together to make it happen!”
“Particular thanks to Kerryn Westcott for the initial application, David Nicholas for his assistance in crunching the numbers and making the financials work, and Kristan Wood for his work in managing the project. Finally Greg “Flash” Hannon for his work behind the scenes to bring this all together!”
“Great work team, with an outcome that will benefit the club for many years to come!”
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club has joined a community of more than 400 Victorian sporting clubs that are committed to an environment free from sports betting sponsorship.
This includes our partners from elite sporting clubs, including all 10 Victorian AFL clubs, and state sporting bodies including Football Victoria, Cricket Victoria and AFL Victoria.
There is strong community concern about sports betting advertising, especially the potential impact on young people. Young people may think that gambling is a normal part of sport, or that you can’t enjoy sport without having a bet.
By saying no to sports betting sponsorship, your club is playing an important role in reducing young people’s exposure to sports betting promotion.
Boronia Hawks is dedicated to providing our players access to the best welfare programs available.
In 2019 we have engaged Outside the Locker Room to assist us in our Welfare and Education Program by conducting at least two workshops that are specifically designed for young people involved in sporting clubs, focussing on education and support for facing life’s daily challenges.
The first workshop will be held on Thursday 6 June from 7:30pm to 9:00pm in our Club Rooms at Tormore Reserve.
This is a one of a kind program for local clubs to have players mentored by the team at OTLR over a 12 months period.
All senior football and netball players with the Hawks are expected to attend this first workshop as a show of support for team mates.
Coaches will put in place a revised coaching timetable for the night, with times to advised shortly.
Meals will be available at the Club from 6:30pm as per other Thursday nights.

Boronia Hawks is extremely fortunate to have enjoyed outstanding support over recent years from our independent coterie, the Hawks Nest Coterie Group. The Club is delighted to announce that the executive committee of the Hawks Nest has just agreed to generously sponsor the Club once again in 2019.
The Hawks Nest has three main objectives:
Fund the recruitment and retention of players;
Fund Club improvements;
Support Junior development.
Sponsorship from the Coterie is a privilege, not a right for the Club and we work together to ensure that these objectives are met.
We thank the entire membership of the Hawks Nest Coterie Group once again for supporting the Club in a way that contributes to development of our young playing group. The Coterie’s contribution sends a powerful message to all members of our Club that the Coterie stands firm in keeping our best young talent wearing the ‘Hawka’ jumper!
Particular thanks to Robert “Bomma” Kimmitt, Chair of the Hawks Nest and a Life Member of the Club; and to Leanne Rech, the Group’s Secretary. We are most grateful for your on-going support and fund raising initiatives and we hope to be able to continue to support your efforts in growing the Coterie Group in the years ahead.
